The Qashqai are a nomadic tribe in southwestern Iran. However, Nissan’s compact SUV of the same name is not aimed at them, but at urban nomads. The Japanese made in England was one of the most successful models of its kind. The second generation (J11) started in 2013 and was built until 2021.
One key to success was the diversity of the all-rounder. Depending on the engine (petrol engine from 115 to 163 hp, diesel from 110 to 150 hp), the all-wheel drive option All-Mode 4×4 was available in addition to the standard front-wheel drive. And as an alternative to the clean, classic six-speed manual transmission, there was either a continuously variable CVT automatic transmission or a DCT double clutch. Under its pleasing shell, the Qashqai Despite the compact exterior dimensions, the interior is spacious enough for families. Four adults can be comfortably accommodated.
Nissan Qashqai used: As a Tekna version with a pinch of luxury
In addition to the comfortable and durable seats, the chassis tuning, which is finally not overly sporty, is also pleasing. Our test vehicle was delivered in Denmark in 2017 and is still driving without the moderate facelift. The always neatly decked out Qashqai The Tekna version even offers a pinch of luxury: partial leather seats, piano lacquer and chrome inlays and a seven-inch touch infotainment system with a 360-degree camera system (including DAB radio, but without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) are also on board LED headlights and fat, high-sheen 19-inch wheels.
Nissan Qashqai: Its still handy format makes the SUV so popular.
Also thought of reasonably well-functioning assistants Nissan: The high-beam automatic, traffic sign recognition and lane departure warning system are standard on board. According to the Schwacke database, the original price including trailer hitch, panoramic roof and heated windscreen was around 32,500 euros. Four years, three months and 83,280 kilometers later, our test vehicle is said to still cost 18,780 euros at the Autohaus in Bockel. A fair price? the Qashqai leaves a mixed impression. There are several dents on the driver’s side doors, a rim with grazing damage on the horn.

The base diesel is sovereign in everyday life
The exhaust system is badly rusted, the brake discs are also past their best. But the drive is bone dry on the outside. In the interior, the durability of the foamed surfaces and fabrics is pleasing. The only thing we discovered was an open seam on the backrest. Clattering is also not part of the craft. Is the basic diesel enough? In principle yes. Despite moderate performance data, the front-wheel drive vehicle looks confident in everyday use and harmonises well with the precise six-speed manual transmission. Thanks to the early 260 Newton meters of torque, you can easily swim along. However, speeds beyond 160 km/h would be torture.

Finally, a tip: If you want to reduce the used purchase price by three to four thousand euros, you should take a look at the equally powerful 1200 DIG-T petrol engine with 115 hp and simpler Acenta equipment. In this case, the savings variant would not be a mistake.
