A new garden sounds great, but think carefully in advance what you want or don’t want in your garden. Many people forget this. In addition, consider whether you want to create the garden yourself or whether you prefer to outsource it. In either case, it is important to avoid making mistakes when designing. You don’t want to have a neglected garden after six months that you will never be in again.
To avoid going completely wrong when designing your garden, there are two best lists to make.
You put all the things you would like to have in your garden on the wish list. You can look up pictures from the internet and get inspiration from our garden designs. Collect all the images and plants that you would like to have in your garden and make a list or a ‘mood board’.
So; think well in advance what kind of garden you want and how much time you want to spend on maintaining the garden.
Think carefully in advance whether you want a low-maintenance garden or rather a labor-intensive garden. Write this down clearly. Then you can figure out how much maintenance that tree requires that you would like, or how much time a pond actually takes. You can place this list next to the ‘wish list’ and you can, for example, choose to go for a different choice. Would you like grass, but you only have 10m2 and don’t feel like mowing the lawn? Then choose tiles or artificial grass.
