NSFW: trailer of erotic horror film about lesbian nuns by Paul Verhoeven

The first images of Benedetta are unloaded. Dutch director Paul Verhoeven’s new film will not be his first scandal film. The erotic horror film is based on a true story and will hit the big screen for the first time in July.

Benedetta is an erotic horror film about lesbian nuns. Unique in its kind, we think. The film’s working name was Blessed Virgin and is Paul Verhoeven’s first film since Elle in 2016. For Verhoeven it is not his first erotic thriller, after Basic Instinct and Showgirls. Benedetta will be seen for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival in July.

Passionate affair with another nun

Publisher Pathé has already released the short summary of the film. “In the late 15th century, with the plague ravaging the country, Benedetta Cerlini enters the monastery in Pescia, Tuscany, as a newcomer. She was able to perform miracles at an early age. Benedetta’s impact on the community is memorable and almost instantaneous. She takes a woman into the monastery and the two start a passionate affair. ”

Belgian lead actress

The leading role is for the Belgian Virginie Efira. Charlotte Rampling, Daphné Patakia and Lambert Wilson play next to her. The movie is based on the book Immodest Acts: The Life Of A Lesbian Nun In Renaissance Italy by Judith C. Brown. The book is based on a true story. Benedetta will thus be shown for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival and will be in French theaters on July 9. A date for the publication in Belgium is not yet clear.
