O2 launches 5G roaming in these ten countries

O2 is now starting 5G roaming in other EU countries. Fast mobile surfing is taking off in these ten states.

O2 is now starting 5G roaming in other European countries. O2 customers from Germany can now surf faster in ten European countries – provided that a 5G mobile network is already available at the specific location in another EU country and the smartphone supports 5G.
In these countries, O2 offers 5G roaming
According to O2, 5G use is now available in these countries: Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania. So fast, mobile surfing on the beach shouldn’t be a problem.
But O2 restricts its announcement itself: “Depending on the device, tariff and depending on the local availability of the network, O2 customers then surf at up to 500 Mbit/s. For example, in the tariff

use all digital applications easily via 5G in several countries.” Practice will show what it actually looks like on site.
More countries are added
However, it should not stay with these ten EU countries, as O2 adds: “Greece and Croatia, two other popular holiday countries, will follow in the course of June. In the coming months, access to the fast 5G standard abroad will gradually be expanded to other countries and countries partners added”. However, O2 is not yet saying what these are specifically.
5G at O2 in Germany
According to O2, 5G is currently available in Germany for 40 percent of the population in the O2 mobile network. By the end of 2022 it should be 50 percent and by 2025 O2 wants to cover all of Germany.
