In a recently updated support article, Microsoft informs its customers that support for Office 2013 has ended. Mainstream support for the Office package released in 2013 ended on April 10, 2018. Extended support will end on Tuesday April 11, 2023. After this date there will be no more security updates for Office 2013. Accordingly, users should switch to a current Office version or to Microsoft 365.
Specifically, Microsoft says:
After the end of support for Office 2013, Microsoft will no longer provide new security updates, and continuing to use Office 2013 after April 2023 may increase security risks for your organization or impact your ability to comply with regulatory requirements.
The end of support on April 11, 2023 also affects all sub-applications of Office 2013, such as Outlook 2013, PowerPoint 2013, Word 2013 and Excel 2013.
Support for other Microsoft products will also expire in 2023. For example, support for Windows 11 Home and Pro in version 21H2 will end on October 10, 2023. A few months earlier, on June 13, 2023, support for Windows 10 Home / Pro version 21H2 ends.
