The food delivery service Gorillas is planning a new round of investors to raise EUR 500 million. This is reported by the Bloomberg news agency, citing company sources. Gorillas are aiming for a valuation of 6 billion euros. However, the preparations for the investor round are still in the early stages, the numbers could still change.
When asked by Bloomberg, a spokesman for the Berlin startup said there was “nothing to confirm”. Details about upcoming investor rounds are “speculation”.
Gorillas only raised 245 million at the end of March
It wasn’t until the end of March that gorillas rose to become unicorns. In an investor round, the online supermarket collected 245 million euros. Among other things, the Chinese tech group Tencent invested. Just nine months after his first order was shipped, Gorilals hit a billion mark.
The startup is active in 13 cities and has 40 locations. Gorillas advertised more than 250 jobs on its website at the end of March, plus numerous driver jobs. In February it was said that the Berlin company had around 1,000 employees.
