The 94th Oscar award ceremony 2022 is over and the most coveted film prize was awarded in the early hours of the morning (German time) with a few surprises. A memorable scene ensued when, following a bad joke by comedian Chris Rock, actor Will Smith rushed onto the stage and gave Rock a savage slap in the face. But see for yourself:
The second big surprise of the evening: The Apple TV+ film Coda received the award for best film of the year and thus wrote Oscar history, as our colleagues from Macwelt also report. After all, Coda is the first time a streaming service film has won the Best Picture award. Coda prevailed against films like Don’t Look Up (Netflix Original), Dune, Licorice Pizza and The Power of Dog.
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune won the most Oscars. The film received a total of six Oscars, well deserved, as many Dune fans will surely find.
