Netflix, Disney+, Sky/WOW and Amazon Prime Video as well as Apple TV+ face competition in Germany: because at the end of 2022 another streaming provider will start in Germany with Paramount+. Paramount+ belongs to the well-known US entertainment group Paramount, which is already represented in Germany with the channels Nick, MTV and Comedy Central.
As the media magazine Meedia reports, Paramount+ also wants to produce several of its own series for the German audience. As an example, Paramount+ cites the series “A Thin Line” about the twin sisters Anna (Saskia Rosendahl) and Benni (Hanna Hilsdorf), who, as hackers, do everything they can to uncover environmental crimes.
The Paramount+ streaming service is already available in the USA, Canada, Australia and from Wednesday also in Great Britain. Paramount+ offers nearly 9,000 hours of children’s programming, reality shows, movies, original productions, series, dramas and sitcoms from CBS and Showtime.
Costs
You can watch Paramount+ in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from December online, via the Paramount+ app and via supported connected TV devices for a monthly price of EUR 7.99. At launch, Paramount+ will also be available as a free app for Sky Q to all Sky Cinema subscribers.
