Until recently it was still necessary to activate the PDF viewer update in the experimental settings (“chrome: // flags”) in the Chrome browser. In the meantime, Chrome already offers you two important functions as standard: namely, the view as a double page and in full screen.
PDF files in the Chrome browser: double pages and full monitor
The display on two pages side by side is particularly suitable on larger monitors. On the one hand, you have a better overview and, on the other hand, you have to scroll less to page forward in the file. The full screen view is particularly suitable for presentations, in which the content is displayed on the entire screen area.
Chrome offers two standard functions for viewing PDFs: namely, the view as a double page and in full screen.
Both functions can be reached by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner of the browser. If you would like to use both, you must first select the “Two-sided view” and then “Present”. The F5 key for the full screen view, which is familiar from PowerPoint, does not work here – it updates the website that is called up, as with all browsers. You can return from full screen and normal mode by pressing the Esc key.
