Peugeot e-308 SW: the first European electric station wagon

So far, the Peugeot 308 and the station wagon variant 308 SW have been available as diesel, petrol, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants – but not yet in a fully electric variant. That will now change: the e-308 and e-308 SW models are scheduled to come onto the market in mid-2023.
Peugeot is also launching the first all-electric station wagon from a European manufacturer! But what do the electro-French bring with them?

The e-308 SW is based on a well-known platform

First of all, both models are based on the EMP2 platform. Since 2013, numerous models have been built on this basis – for example the current Opel Astra (Generation L), the Citroën C5 Aircross and the Peugeot 508. So far only one engine is known for the 308 brothers. Accordingly, both variants deliver 115 kW (156 hp).

With the Peugeot e-308 SW, the French brand is launching the first electric station wagon from a European manufacturer.

Although Peugeot states that the new models will be available in the “Allure” and “GT” versions, the fully electric e-208 will have both equipment lines with the same engine.

The Peugeot 308 was previously only available as a combustion engine, mild hybrid or PHEV. The “e” in the name is new!

It has a range of up to 400 kilometers

The two new E models are equipped with a 54 kWh battery, which according to WLTP – and depending on the equipment – should enable a range of around 400 kilometers.

Consumption is 12.7 kWh per 100 kilometers. According to Peugeot, the e-308 and e-308 SW charge from 20 to 80 percent in around 25 minutes at a 100 kW charging station.

Smartphone and car are connected via Peugeot app

If you want to be as economical as possible on the road, you should choose “Eco” from the three different driving modes. “Normal” and “Sport” are also available.
