Preview build: Windows 11 gets “Suggested Actions” function

In a new preview build, Microsoft has given the Windows 11 operating system a new function and some fixes.

Microsoft has added a new feature called “Suggested Actions” to the Insider build of Windows 11. This gives the user quick access to phone numbers and dates, as reported in a Microsoft blog post.

The Redmond company explains the new function as follows:

“When you copy a date, time, or phone number, Windows suggests actions relevant to you, such as creating calendar events or making calls using your favorite applications.”

Windows 11 suggests apps for you

Windows 11 recognizes the text passages marked by the user, such as a telephone number, date or time, and suggests various options for processing the information with connected programs. Telephone numbers, for example, can be called directly with frequently used programs such as Teams or Skype, or date and time information can be processed within the calendar or Outlook.

The preview build is number 25115. In addition to the new feature, Microsoft has updated the icons in the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) in this build. Of course, the build also includes other fixes. These can be found in the Windows Insider Blog post.
