Rare opportunity: Peugeot 205 GTI from 1 owner

Valuation report with grade 2+
After 34 years, the time has come to say goodbye. The Peugeot is presented in the pictures in very good condition. This impression is underlined by a Classic Data appraisal with a grade of 2+. The GTI has only driven 75,200 kilometers in its lifetime, which is because it was intended as a pure fun car from the start.

The Speedline rims are not original, but they can be considered contemporary tuning – which is why the GTI also got the H license plate.

The interior is presented in immaculate original condition. The 205 GTI did not have an airbag steering wheel in 1988.
Of course, the 205 is accident-free, but there are repaints on the front apron, bonnet and one door. Minor defects include occasional misfires in the right electric window regulator and a missing plastic cover on the right exterior mirror. But the car is rust-free, since it was always deregistered in winter.
1.9 liter four-cylinder without cat
The 205 GTI, registered for the first time on April 18, 1988, is one of the last examples with the 1.9-liter four-cylinder without a catalytic converter. The 128 hp accelerate the GTI, which weighs only 875 kilos, to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds km/h and up to a top speed of 208 km/h.
205 GTI with contemporary tuning
With the 205 offered here, however, more should be possible, because over the years the Peugeot has been refined with all kinds of well-known tuning parts. In addition to a Sebring exhaust with stainless steel exhaust manifold, the four-cylinder was optimized by Heisel Motorsport in 1993 with special pistons and a modified camshaft.
Because you were already there, a sports clutch was also installed. Unfortunately, it is not known how much power the Peugeot has now.
Some minor changes have also been made visually. The radiator grille without the Peugeot logo is just as non-original as the Eibach lowering springs and the Speedline rims. What might discourage originality fetishists, however, should please those seeking performance.

If it doesn’t necessarily have to be a 205 GTI: the big brother 309 GTI is a bit cheaper.
Either way, it is clear that such well-kept Peugeot 205 GTIs are now very rare, especially from first owners. The fact that the entire history is documented speaks for the example shown here. All invoices and proofs and even the original sales contract are given to the buyer.
The offered GTI is not a bargain
With a few days left, the current highest bid is currently 17,335 euros, but something is likely to happen there. The range of used 205 GTIs in Germany is very small, while interest in the French hot hatch is great.
