Literally this means ‘pieces in the pan’. A stew of leftovers; certainly not light, but tasty.
Pre-boil your carrots and cut them into cubes of 1 by 1 cm. Also do this with the boiled potatoes (preferably waxy), bacon, frankfurters, and (leftover) meat of your choice. Coarsely chop the onions. Heat the butter and half a tbsp of oil in a wok or frying pan and add the potatoes when it starts to foam. After five minutes the onions and carrots can be added, fry until the potatoes and onions are brown.
In another pan, brown the bacon, meat and sausage, add fresh thyme if necessary. Drain the excess fat and add the meat mix to the potato mix. Mix and season with pepper. Salt probably isn’t necessary. Serve with a fried egg, pickled vegetables (such as beetroot or red cabbage) and garnish with parsley.
