Renault puts its Tiguan opponent Kadjar new on. After the first generation of the compact SUV has been on the market since 2015, the prototypes of the new Renault SUV are rolling in the right direction World premiere in summer 2022. Whether the new SUV keeps the name Kadjaris still unclear. What is clear, however, is that the new one is technically on the same platform as the current Nissan Qashqai. How To Cars expects, however, that Renault’s SUV will visually differ greatly from its Japanese brother.
Renault has already shown the next evolutionary stage in brand design with the Mégane E-Tech Electric. The Kadjar successor should build on this. The new Renault logo is set; unlike the electric crossover, the larger SUV will probably have a distinctive radiator grille. The brand-typical light signature underneath the main headlights is also safely retained. Erlkönige already suggest a different window line than the Qashqai, the AUTO BILD draftsman has also given the new Kadjar generation in the illustration (see above) a chrome border around the windows and a black roof.
Electric SUV from Renault with the technology of the Nissan Ariya?
For the engines, Renault should fall back on the 1.3 mild hybrid gasoline engine, which are also used in the Nissan Qashqai. A plug-in hybrid variant is likely. On the other hand, it is questionable whether there will be a diesel for the Kadjar successor. An interview by “Auto Express” with Renault’s chief developer Gilles Le Borgne also suggests that it also a fully electric version of the upcoming compact SUV from Renault will give – but that should then use the technology of the Nissan Ariya.
