The Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) has, according to a report by Upper Austrian news Investigations against ÖBAG boss Thomas Schmid started because of false statements before the Ibiza-U-Committee. According to his survey on June 24, 2020, he is said to have stated that the former FP State Secretary Hubert Fuchs was involved in the process of the 2018 gambling amendment, but there is “no record of this”.
Neither the WKStA nor Schmid’s lawyer Thomas Kralik wanted to get up APA– Make a request about the report. Schmid, who was General Secretary in the Ministry of Finance before his appointment as ÖBAG boss, stated in his questioning in the U Committee that the former FP State Secretary Hubert Fuchs was involved in the process of the 2018 gambling amendment.
The WKStA investigators are now said to have sought evidence of Schmid’s statements in the ministry.
