In addition to the increase in the ecological bonus for electric cars, the car recovery plan marks the return of the purchase premium for plug-in hybrid cars, up to € 2,000.
This has been widely implied in recent days. Rechargeable hybrids are again entitled to an ecological bonus, the President of the Republic made official on Tuesday, May 26.
Up to 2000 €
In 2015, the French government initiated a purchase premium for plug-in hybrids. Initially set at € 4,000, it was finally reduced to € 1,000 in 2016 before disappearing in 2018. Back then, this government premium will be available from June 1, 2020 with an amount set at € 2,000.
As in the electrical sector, the state could apply purchase limits. This point will be confirmed when the decree is published. The aim would be to promote French models. Indeed, the Peugeot 508, Citroën C5 Aircross, or Renault Captur are among the cheapest in the catalog. But they will not be alone, the Ford Kuga, Hyundai Ioniq or Mercedes Class A can also claim this bonus.
For the government, this new bonus complements the aid granted to electric cars, reinforced to € 7,000.
