RKC Waalwijk has strengthened itself with central defender Shawn Adewoye. The 20-year-old Belgian comes over from KRC Genk and signs a contract until mid-2023 in Waalwijk. He will join the selection of the club on Monday, which drew 1-1 against Vitesse on Saturday and occupies the fifteenth position in the Eredivisie rankings.
“We had wanted to add a central defender to our selection for quite some time, in order to double the positions at the heart of the defense”, CEO Frank van Mosselveld explains the arrival of Adewoye. “With the arrival of Shawn, a strong and driven center-back will join the ranks and we remain committed to our mission of attracting players with great potential.”
Adewoye was born in Bree and played football at the Genk youth academy from the age of eight. He moved on to the A selection at the age of eighteen. Adewoye has more than fifteen international matches in various youth teams in Belgium to his name.
