The film will show how Robbie his career has experienced both highs and lows. ‘The Robster’ joined the British boy band Take That in 1990 at the age of 16 and lived in a rollercoaster in the years that followed. He became addicted to drink and drugs and eventually left the group in 1995 after a big fight among themselves. After that he continued very successfully as a solo artist, to rejoin Take That in 2010.
It is not yet known exactly what the film will look like and it is also not clear who will play Williams. Director Gracey is silent about this. What he does want to say is that he has been talking to Robbie for years about the realization of this biopic. According to Gracey, Better Man will be a different film from Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen) and Rocketman (Elton John). Freddy Mercury and Elton John were musical geniuses themselves. That wasn’t Robbie. He was just a normal kid following his dreams, although he’s not necessarily the best singer or dancer. And despite that, he managed to sell a nice 80 million records. ”
Production of the film will start this summer. It is not yet known when the biopic will be released.
