Rockstar: GTA 6 as the benchmark for the entertainment industry

Take-Two is confident that Grand Theft Auto 6 will set a creative benchmark for the entertainment industry.

Developer Rockstar Games is still keeping a low profile when it comes to news about “Grand Theft Auto 6”. In February it was only stated that the upcoming game was on the right track. Now Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has spoken. The head of the parent company sees “GTA 6” as the new benchmark for the entire entertainment industry: “Work on the next part of the GTA series is progressing well. The Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set a creative benchmark for the industry and the entire entertainment industry,” said Strass Zelnick at an investor event.

Reduced game world?

However, the Take Two boss declined to comment on information leaked through a report by Bloomberg that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will be carried by a female protagonist and will use a fictional version of Miami as the setting. Players, on the other hand, are a bit unsettled because the report also says that the size of the world of “GTA 6” had to be reduced during development. In return, however, new missions and districts are to be published after the release, which would increase the virtual playground for gamers again. Reasons for concern that “GTA 6” will offer a small game world do not seem appropriate. After all, the title should offer more interior space than all previous “GTA” offshoots.

Release between 2023 and 2024

When “Grand Theft Auto 6” is to be released remains to be seen. Many insiders assume that publication can only be expected between April 2023 and March 2024.
