Disney+ is planning a new series based on Daredevil. The industry magazine Variety claims to have learned this from internal sources. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are rumored to be writing the script and producing.
Corman and Ord bring series experience with them
Speculations about a new “Daredevil” series at Disney + have been around for several months. Charlie Cox’s performance as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Vincent D’Onofrio’s role as Kingpin in the Disney+ series Hawkeye provided clues. An official confirmation of the new series is still pending. Neither Marvel Studios nor representatives from Corman and Ord declined to comment on Variety. The two authors Corman and Ord have worked on the series “Covert Affairs”, “The Enemy Within”, “The Brave” and “Containment” in recent years.
Reboot or Season 4?
The Marvel series “Daredevil” was canceled in 2018 after three seasons on the streaming service Netflix. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel. However, a deal with Netflix prevented the characters from the series from appearing in other projects two years after the cancellation. That deadline has now passed, as indicated by the appearances of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. It remains to be seen whether Disney+ will continue the “Daredevil” series with season 4 or whether a reboot is planned.
