Ruud Brood succeeds Aleksandar Rankovic at ADO Den Haag | Football

Rankovic, who had to leave the field with his assistant Richard Knopper, was not on par with Martin Jol, boss of the technical heart of the club, and director Mohammed Hamdi. At the moment, ADO Den Haag can be found in sixteenth place in the Eredivisie and only beat VVV-Venlo.

“Victim of Double Agenda”

Brood was also a candidate at ADO Den Haag for the trainer position last summer. His last job as head coach dates from the end of last year, when he was dismissed by NAC Breda on the last day of 2019 after a conflict with the management. Brood felt opposed in Breda by then general director Luuc Eisenga and technical director Tom Van den Abbeele. “I am the victim of the double agenda of the management,” he said in a major interview in De Telegraaf.

In compiling the selection, Brood was disturbed by Van den Abbeele’s involvement. “It was purely the policy of one man, an inexperienced man: Van den Abbeele. I only got a say at the end of July. There are players that I have been able to stop fortunately for myself and fortunately for the club. Eisenga and Van den Abbeele wanted to sit in the trainer’s chair, have a direct or indirect say in everything. Actually, the management said: we have an experienced trainer, but he can only coach. We want to influence his training schedule, the way of playing and the composition of the selection. ”

In spite of this, Brood’s dismissal fell on his roof, because the performances were not bad. Before his period at NAC, Brood worked as an assistant trainer at PSV and as head coach at NEC, Roda JC, RKC Waalwijk, Heracles Almelo, Helmond Sport and again NAC Breda.
