Tennis players Sabalenka and Mertens win doubles in Melbourne

8:10 am: Tennis players Aryna Sabalenka and Elise Mertens have won the women’s doubles tournament of the Australian Open. Sabalenka and Mertens were clearly too strong for the Czech players Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova: 6-2 6-3.

For the Belarusian Sabalenka (22) and Mertens (25) from Belgium, it is their second grand slam title. At the end of 2019 they already won the US Open.

In the semi-finals, the Sabalenka / Mertens duo was the boss of the Dutch Demi Schuurs, who formed a duo with the American Nicole Melichar.
