Samsung is expected to release two new folding smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4, in August or September 2022. Smartprix and the leaker Onleaks released the first unofficial render images and a 360-degree video of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 this week.
OLED panels with high refresh rates
The images and video are intended to show how Samsung has evolved the design of the foldable compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 from 2021. When unfolded, the smartphone has a 7.6-inch display. When folded in the format of a classic mobile phone, the 6.2-inch front display can be used. Both screens are said to be OLED panels with high refresh rates. The rumor mill also assumes an improved selfie camera, which is installed under the large display.
New camera design
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 should have the dimensions 155 x 130 x 7.1 millimeters. The predecessor measured 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4 millimeters. At first glance, the slightly changed values make the display appear slightly larger. However, Samsung made the most obvious design change to the rear camera. The module consists of three protruding and superimposed lenses reminiscent of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung seems to have stayed true to the predecessor’s design in all other areas.
