Samsung introduces three new budget phones – M33, M23 and A13

With the Galaxy M33 5G, the Galaxy M23 5G and the Galaxy A13, Samsung presented three new smartphones today.

Samsung is expanding its Galaxy A and Galaxy M families with new smartphone models. The Galaxy M23 and the Galaxy M33 each have a 6.6-inch TFT display with a resolution of 2,408 x 1080 pixels. Both screens have a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. 5G connectivity is also on board for both M models.

Eight-core processor and large battery

The extensive features of the Galaxy M23 (can be pre-ordered here from Amazon) and the M33 include a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged quickly with up to 25 watts. An unspecified eight-core processor and four gigabytes of RAM in the M23 and six gigabytes of RAM in the M33 work in the housing. The internal memory offers 128 gigabytes and can be expanded with a micro SD card.

Good camera equipment and Android 12

Both M smartphones have an eight-megapixel front camera housed in a teardrop notch at the top of the display. Samsung has installed a quadruple camera in the Galaxy M33. This consists of a main sensor with 50 megapixels, a super wide-angle camera with eight megapixels, a macro camera with two megapixels and a depth sensor with two megapixels. The macro camera has been removed from the cheaper M23. The rest of the camera equipment is identical.

All three models use Android 12 with the One UI 4.1 user interface as the mobile operating system. The Galaxy M23 is now available in Germany for 289 euros. The M33 will appear on April 8th for 349 euros.

Entry-level model from 189 euros

The cheapest of the three new smartphones at 189 euros is called the Galaxy A13. Buyers have to make some compromises for the lower price. The screen only has a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The smartphone also lacks 5G support.

The main memory offers four gigabytes and the internal memory is relatively tight at 64 gigabytes. The battery also has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, but can only be quickly charged with a maximum of 15 watts. The camera equipment is almost identical to that of the Galaxy M33. Only the resolution of the super wide-angle camera has been reduced from eight to five megapixels. The Galaxy A13 will be available in Germany from March 25th.
