Many all-wheel drive fans have noticed a strange trend for years: Although there are more and more SUVs on the market, many manufacturers are foregoing one of the most important features of a higher-level vehicle, the all-wheel drive. In particular, cheaper compact SUVs are increasingly being offered as pure front-wheel drive vehicles. But if you don’t want to miss the advantage of four driven wheels and still don’t want to resort to a premium manufacturer, Suzuki is in good hands. Because the current version of the Vitara will continue to be sold with a 4×4 system called Allgrip Select if required. Here, and especially off-roaders will be pleased, the driver can even actively intervene in the drive, lock the all-wheel drive and thus ensure a 50:50 power distribution between the front and rear axles. An absolute must, especially on icy and muddy dirt roads. Propulsion is always provided by a 1.4-liter booster jet turbo gasoline engine with mild hybrid, and an automatic system is also available on request.
You have to invest at least 28,500 euros for the cheapest all-wheel drive version of the Suzuki Vitara, prices for the front-wheel drive model start at 25,450 euros. Even if this is quite fair pricing, you can currently save a lot of money with the right provider. At carwow.de there is the Suzuki Vitara with a discount of up to 8990 euros (As of November 25, 2021).
One engine, three equipment versions
You don’t have to worry too much about choosing the right drive. Since the last major modernization Suzuki relies fully on the 1.4-liter booster jet with 129 hp and a torque of 235 Nm for the Vitara. The mild hybrid is optionally available with a manual six-speed gearbox or a six-speed automatic. From the second highest equipment version, Comfort, the just 4.17 meter long SUV can be equipped with the Allgrip all-wheel drive. In this version, useful features such as a reversing camera, a blind spot warning system as well as LED headlights and automatic air conditioning are standard on board. To get the maximum discount of almost 9,000 euros, you have to go to carwow.de for the top version Comfort + with all-wheel drive and automatic. Then the navigation system and a panoramic sliding glass roof are also part of the standard equipment. The prices for the Vitara 1.4 Allgrip Comfort + with automatic start at 24,609 euros and are already 8091 euros below the list price. With a few extras from the accessories program and a striking two-tone paintwork, the discount can climb to the maximum 8990 euros (note: the transfer costs reduce the discount by a few hundred euros).
