In 2018, BMW relaunched the 8 Series. The approximately 4.85 meter long coupé with the internal abbreviation G15 inherited the world-famous E31, which even appeared as the BMW 850 with a twelve-cylinder engine at the time. The G15 was not given this honor – the absolute top model of the current 8 Series is the M8 Competition, which draws its 625 hp from a 4.4-liter V8 and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
A facelift of the series shows how convinced the people of Munich are of their luxury sports car: Only small things such as wheels and lights have been adjusted here, the M8 Competition is also available in new exterior colors. Anyone familiar with BMW’s pricing policy knows that the 8 Series is anything but cheap – and that there are almost no discounts on M models. The BMW M8 Competition always drives up with a 625 hp V8 and all-wheel drive. The list of standard equipment features is extensive: the strongest 8-series comes with a carbon roof, head-up display, a Harman Kardon surround system and leather interior as standard. In terms of sportiness, sports seats, the adaptive chassis and compound brakes complete the overall package. According to the list, the BMW equipped in this way costs at least an impressive 170,700 euros.
At carwow.de, prices start at 146,635 euros, which corresponds to a discount of at least 24,065 euros or around 14 percent (note, the transfer costs reduce the discount by a few hundred euros). If you equip the luxury sports car with optional extras such as the M Driver’s Package or the carbon exterior package, you can get a discount of up to 25,264 euros.
