The Sex Pistols are legendary in many ways. And soon the British punks will have their own series. Which will be the name Pistol and appearing on FX. The miniseries is currently in full production. The makers have made that clear once again by the first images from Pistol to unleash the world.
Fans of the Sex Pistols will soon be able to see how their idols lived in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. FX (which is part of Disney) is coming with a mini-series about the legendary punks. It will be given the (appropriate) name Pistol.
Pistol will have six episodes and focus on guitarist and founder Steve Jones. That role is played by Toby Wallace (Babyteeth). The story is based on the memoirs Jones published in 2018, Lonely Boy: Tales from the Sex Pistols.
In addition to Wallace, another part of the cast is also known. Sid Vicious is played by Louis Patridge (Enola Holmes). Anson Boon (1917) plays John Lyndon aka Johnny Rotten. And drummer Paul Cook is played by newcomer Jacob Slater.
In addition, Thomas Brody-Sangster (The Queen’s Gambit) in Pistol can be seen. He plays Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the Sex Pistols. Tallulah Riley (Westworld) crawls into the skin (and clothes) of designer Vivienne Westwood. She helped put punk on the map in the United Kingdom.
Which Pistol getting closer and closer, FX has made it clear by releasing the first images from the series. For this, the channel enlisted the help of music magazine Rolling Stone (what else?). The photos seem to be a new version of the legendary performance of Pretty Vacant in Top the Pogs, a weekly series in the 1970s.
