The recent failure of Whatsapp obviously made many users look for alternatives to the popular Messenger. If you have now installed Messenger Signal, the following tip may help you.
You can use Signal Messenger to write messages that will automatically disappear after the time you have specified. How to write messages that delete themselves.
Disappearing news: That’s why!
Disappearing news works well for news that is only relevant for a period of time. For example, to organize an event. They can also be combined with “Note to me”, a note that automatically disappears when you no longer need it.
But what doesn’t work:
Secretly monitor other people. If you only set a period of one second, you can test very quickly whether someone can be received or is online. If he or she does not look at the cell phone immediately, the person you are writing to will not notice the content of your disappearing message and you will still know that your contact is online if Signal shows the two circled (but not filled) ticks. But in the chat history, the recipient can see that you have sent him or her a disappearing message.

Here you turn on the “Disappearing Messages”.
Select a contact from your chat history to send disappearing messages to. Tap the contact’s thumbnail to access the settings menu. There you will see the entry “Disappearing Messages”.

Tap on this menu and select the desired period after which the messages sent to this contact should disappear. You can choose between 30 seconds and 4 weeks.

Alternatively, you can also define a personalized period, then everything is possible from 1 second and up to four weeks.

As soon as you have activated “Disappearing Messages”, a stylized clock appears next to the name of the contact and the period after which the messages that are sent to this contact will disappear automatically. You will also see a note in your chat history that “Disappearing Messages” is now activated. Above all, however, the message itself contains the corresponding “clock” symbol with the time.
