The Sky Ticket is now also available for the Amazon Fire TV.

Good news in the afternoon: Sky Germany has confirmed that the Sky Ticket is now also available on the Amazon Fire TV!

So you can now use the app for the Sky Ticket on the popular Fire TV devices from Amazon. With the Sky Ticket, the content of Sky can be accessed without a long contract. Disadvantage: Unfortunately, Sky Deutschland still does not offer 4K streaming via the Sky Ticket. In addition, you are still stuck in the past when it comes to sound, because Dolby Atmos can only be dreamed of here.

Still, the Sky Ticket can be a nice thing if you want to look inside exclusive content. From now on, it will also work on the 2nd and 3rd generation Fire TV Stick, the Fire TV Stick Lite and the current Fire TV Stick 4K. Sky intends to supply other devices in the Fire TV series during the course of the year. We strongly assume that the Fire TV Cube will also be part of that.

In December 2020, Amazon had already pushed its app for Prime Video to Sky-Q receivers. At that time it was also announced that in return the Sky Ticket would land as an app on the Fire TV. So it starts today. This not only gives you access to the Sky Originals and series from z. B. HBO, but can also watch live sports.

Sky Ticket: technical backlog

We can only support the fact that the Sky Ticket is available for more and more devices. Nevertheless, we think that Sky should finally make technical improvements to get up to date with the current state of affairs. After all, the Sky-Q receivers have meanwhile been upgraded with 4K and HDR support. So now it would be time to upgrade the Sky Ticket as well. Unfortunately, we still have to wait and see, because no concrete plans are known, at least at the moment.
