Google has given its watch app a new “bedtime” menu. This allows you to set a time interval in which your smartphone is muted. At the beginning and at the end of the interval you also have the option of defining further actions.
Smartphone: fall asleep relaxed and wake up
If you have trouble falling asleep, you can automatically play certain sounds like the sound of the sea. Alternatively, the function also gives you the option of integrating audiobooks from Spotify or the Calm app. The watch will automatically remind you before bedtime that it is about to begin. You determine the time for the reminder yourself. This can be up to an hour earlier.
The new “bedtime” function helps you fall asleep and wakes you up in the morning with a daylight alarm clock.
When I woke up, Google also came up with something special. In addition to the pure alarm tone, a daylight alarm clock is also available. This makes the display brighter before you wake up. In addition, the watch also allows you to set follow-up actions via the Google Assistant. These possibilities start with a compilation of the day’s appointments and end with playing a podcast so that you are informed about the events of the night.
In addition to the daylight alarm clock, you can also be woken up with a sound and vibration of the smartphone.
A wizard will then guide you through the various settings. The alarm function can either be activated for all days of the week or only for selected days. You specify this either at the beginning in the wizard or at any time afterwards by tapping the start or end time. You deactivate the entire function again by deactivating both the bedtime and the alarm time.
