Sony has confirmed that the Bravia XR A90J OLED TV will be available in Germany from April 2021. Pre-orders are already possible from today.

We had already reported on the new OLED flagship Bravia XR A90J, which are part of Sony’s Master Series. So the prices have already become known. But now it is finally possible to pre-order the first models. Specifically, these are the Bravia XR A90R with diagonals of 55 and 65 inches. The prices for the two models XR-55A90J (55 inches) and XR-65A90J (65 inches) are respectively 2,599 and 3,499 euros. Both OLED TVs with 4K resolutions will be available in stores from April 2, 2021.

An 83-inch variant will also follow later in the year – the Bravia XR-83A90J model. However, Sony is currently not giving a specific price or a more precise release date. In terms of features, all models offer HDR10 and of course HLG as well as Dolby Vision. Google TV serves as the interface. So you can use the Google Assistant as well as access the Google Play Store for apps. Support for Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit are also on board.

Sony is also promoting the Cognitive Processor XR, which should raise the image quality to unimagined heights. Accordingly, individual image elements and focus points would be evaluated and their representation optimized. Bravia Core will also be available on the TV, a new streaming service from Sony that is reserved exclusively for the XR flagships and allows 4K streaming at up to 80 Mbit / s.

According to the Japanese, the new OLED TVs also support IMAX Enhanced and offer a Netflix calibrated picture mode. It goes without saying that upscaling is also described as particularly clever. Thanks to HDMI 2.1, eARC, 4K at 120 Hz, ALLM and VRR are also available. Whereby Sony notes that the ALLM and VRR are only offered afterwards through firmware updates. The Bravia XR A90J are also Calman Ready, which is a fine thing for calibration.

The TVs also work with Acoustic Surface Audio + again, which should ensure excellent sound. Ambient Optimization is supposed to adapt the picture and sound quality to the environment. One or the other reader may be interested in Sony’s new OLED flagships.
