You surely know the problem of every party: someone feels called to be a DJ and everyone else suffers from his taste in music. Spotify shows compassion for everyone and has recently started offering a shared DJ mode.
If the DJ mode is active, all participants can actively contribute to the design, add new songs and navigate within the currently active playlist. All users who want to work as a DJ need the current Spotify app and a premium or family subscription.
You start the group session in Spotify via the symbol for connecting to other devices.
The connection to the other participants is established via a code for scanning.
A user acts as a master with his Spotify client, which makes the selection available to the others. As the host, start the shared session by switching to playback mode and calling up the screen for connecting to another device. In the following window you will find the section “Start group session” with the corresponding sample for scanning. All other participants in the joint session use the “Scan to join” function located below the code. From now on, all guests have access to the current queue or playlist and the control functions. Everyone can skip, repeat and add new titles. After an hour of inactivity, the host and guests are automatically disconnected.
