Squid Game: Season 2 gets the green light from Netflix






Netflix has greenlit the second season of Squid Game. So fans can look forward to the sequel.

Netflix has now officially given the “green light” for production of the second season of Squid Game. “Red light… Greenlight!” it says in

the Netflix tweet.
After the immense success of the first season, a second season was foreseeable. It is astonishing that Netflix took so long to make a corresponding announcement.

In a statement, Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk thanks fans:

“It took 12 years for the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to come to life last year. But it only took 12 days for ‘Squid Game’ to become the most popular Netflix series of all time. As a writer, director and producer “Squid Game” I want to say a big thank you to the fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our series.”

Both Gi-Hun and the “Front Man” return in Season 2. That might also apply to the man in the suit and “ddakji”. In addition, Cheol-su is introduced as a friend of Young-hee. The message to the fans ends with the words: “Join us again in a whole new round.”
