Steam & Epic: The free games for the weekend

The cloudy weekend lures gamers back to their gaming PCs. If you can’t or don’t want to spend money on new games, you should definitely visit the Epic Games Store and Steam. Several free games are waiting there again this weekend, which you can try out free of charge or keep permanently.

“Doom 64” reissued

The Epic Games Store starts with “Doom 64” in the Enhanced Edition. The remake of the original for Nintendo’s N64 console from 1997 has been reissued to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The first-person shooter can be downloaded free of charge for a week and kept permanently. If you want to experience the classic again with a contemporary look, you should definitely grab it.

War with running machines

On the other hand, if you are interested in real-time strategy, Steam is the place for you. There you can try out the tactical “Iron Harvest” for free until August 21st. The game sends strategists into an alternate timeline of the 1920s. The battles are dominated by running machines. The presentation offers chic cutscenes, and a new and free world map can also be tried out.

It’s also worth taking a look at the dungeon crawler “Enter the Gungeon”! The game can be tried out for free on Steam until August 22nd. It controls a group of outsiders who are looking for new loot in dark catacombs and have to defeat numerous types of monsters.

Also until August 22nd, the Battle Royale game “Naraka: Bladepoint” can be tried out on Steam. Up to 60 players can compete against each other with swords, bows and other weapons. Additional abilities for the heroes make the battles even more exciting.
