Super-de-luxe lodging: six hotels to dream away | To travel

Slide into the lagoon

On the island Medhufurul is the most beautiful stay of all dream hotels Maldives in the Indian Ocean.

The five-star Soneva Jani resort consists of twenty water villas with a private pool, a water slide that opens into the lagoon and a retractable roof for star gazing. For those who are not enough, the resort also has a spa, a water sports and diving center, cinema, tennis court and butler service. A night in the smallest villa costs 4000 euros.

Another planet

Victoria Beckham, Justin Bieber and the Kardashians are happy to come in Amangiri. The super-deluxe hotel is very secluded in the rocky desert in Canyon Point in the American state Utah. In 2019 Tijs Verwest, aka DJ Tiësto, got married here. The couple chose this location because it almost feels like another planet because of the silence and the landscape. You can book a room from about 1000 euros per night.

Surrounded by animals

In the Okavango Delta, a nature reserve to the northwest of Botswana, state Jao Camp. With five ‘standard rooms’ and two luxury villas with private swimming pool and outdoor shower. Guests can make use of a private guide, cook and butler. The Okavango Delta is the ideal place for bird watching, as it is home to more than 400 species. You can also spot game from your own elevated terrace. Minimum 1050 euros per person per night.

Unparalleled views

On the shores of the blue-green Pehoe Lake, in the middle of the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, is the hotel Explora Patagonia. The rooms may be less spectacular, but the view makes up for it. Everywhere you look at the Torres del Paine massif and the waterfall Salto Chico. Like a painting!

Explora Patagonia has a heated swimming pool, sauna and outdoor hot tubs. You can make forty (!) Different day trips through the area. In the low season you pay from 1440 euros for three nights.

Ecoresort on private island

Five star eco resort The Brando, named after former owner actor Marlon Brando, on private island of Tetiaroa French Polynesia is the ideal place to float in the pool, enjoy nature or take a kayak or diving trip. You can book a room from 3000 euros per night.

Swimming pool in ceiling

Have you ever seen a swimming pool in the (partly) glass ceiling? The villas of Six Senses Zil Pasyon on the private island of Félicité in the Seychelles have it. The resort is so spacious that you will never be bothered by other guests. In the super modern villas with floor-to-ceiling windows, you will (of course) lack nothing. Not to mention the surroundings and the view of the Indian Ocean … For a 6-person villa you pay at least 12,000 euros per night.
