Tales of Arise is back! Bandai Namco has finally lifted the cloak of silence again and today presents us with a brand new trailer for the new game from the popular JRPG series. Tales of Arise’s last major appearance was in September 2019 at the Tokyo Game Show.
Since then, the game had become so quiet that fans had to worry. The postponement in the summer of 2000 for an “indefinite period” was the logical consequence. But now it seems to be moving again. Today the Tales of Festival 2020 (digital) takes place, which Bandai Namco had postponed from summer to March 2021. However, in times of the coronavirus pandemic, it is nowhere near as much attention as usual.
The new trailer throws us a few story snippets and shows a rapid cut, but for the most part we see familiar scenes. You see once again the two main characters Alphen and Shionne, whom Bandai Namco introduced to us almost two years ago. But now we also hear the dubbing voices from them.
Alphen and Shionne
Alphen lives in Dahna. There people believed that peaceful life in Dahna was forever. But overnight they were taught otherwise. Rena has ruled Dahna for 300 years now, a planet that can be seen from Dahna in the sky and which the people of Dahna always believed to be a land of the righteous and divine.
Shionne, on the other hand, comes from Rena. Alphen and Shionne are now central to this adventure that they believe could change their fate and create a new future.
There should be more information in the spring. And Tales of fans are sure to be very excited, as they were used to an almost annual rhythm of new games. Tales of Arise is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PCs.
