Ten Hag: we broke Young Boys

Erik ten Hag was a satisfied trainer after Ajax’s big victory over Young Boys (3-0) in the eighth finals of the Europa League. “We really blew them to pieces,” he concluded. “And that is a very good achievement.”

“I have really seen an excellent Ajax against an opponent that is difficult to play”, said Ten Hag. “It was really up to us that they didn’t look very good in this match. This opponent has won twice against Bayer Leverkusen in the previous round. Then you can really do something.”

“We showed patience and attacked with the door locked,” Ten Hag continued. “They wanted to counter but we did not give away a chance. And let’s not think that we are already there. Young Boys led 3-0 in the home game against Leverkusen at half time.”

“But of course this is a nice margin,” continued Ten Hag. “From a European point of view, 0-0 is already a good result in a home game. Whether I have nothing to complain about? Of course I do. In the first half we had three or four big chances and yet it is 0-0 at half time. That is not allowed. Opportunities are often scarce in European duels. “
