Robin Haase is linked to Andy Murray in the first round of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. Both players will participate in Ahoy from Monday with a wildcard. The winner of that match will probably meet the fourth placed Russian Andrej Roeblev in the second round, who will face a qualifier in his opening match.
Haase was told on Thursday that he was still immediately admitted to the main tournament. The 33-year-old resident of The Hague received from tournament director Richard Krajicek the starting ticket that was released after the cancellation of the French title holder Gaël Monfils. Murray, the former number 1 in the world, was already awarded a wildcard last week.
Botic van de Zandschulp, the other Dutch tennis player who has been admitted directly to the main tournament, will play against the Croat Borna Coric in the first round. In the event of a win, there may be a meeting with the first-placed Russian Daniil Medvedev.
