Tesla: Steam Gaming planned for August

Tesla wants to equip its electric cars with support for the games platform Steam Gaming. A demo should already be available in August.

The selection of games available in the entertainment system of Tesla EV models could expand significantly later this year. Like Tesla CEO Elon Musk in one

tweet confirmed
, the company is working on the integration of the Steam platform. They are already making “great progress” and a first demo can be expected “probably next month”.

Exact implementation still unclear

Some games such as “Sonic the Hedgehog 1” or “Cuphead” are already available via the entertainment system via the Tesla Arcade integrated in the e-cars. Support for Steam could now make that choice a lot bigger. How exactly the Steam integration will look like is not yet known. It remains to be seen how many games will be supported and whether users will be able to shop on Steam in their EV.

Triple-A title playable in Teslas

Tesla had promised EV owners to bring “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk 2077” to the newer Model X and Model S models. However, the Tesla boss has not yet kept this promise. The planned Steam integration could be an indication that Tesla does not want to make top-class titles available individually, but via the Steam platform in its vehicles.
