Mopping robots are the perfect addition to vacuum robots (
Buying advice: The best smart vacuum cleaner robots in the test
), provided you don’t have any carpets or at least not too many carpets in your home. A distinction has to be made between two categories: between pure mopping robots, which can only wipe dry or damp / wet. And between vacuum robots, which can first vacuum and wipe with the corresponding optional attachment. We present both pure mopping robots and vacuum and mopping robots from a wide variety of price ranges.
iRobot Braava jet m6: dry and wet mopping robot with spray jet
From around 600 euros
Intelligent interaction with the s9 + robot vacuum cleaner
Spray jet for loosening heavy dirt
Maps the apartment with the app
The
Braava jet m6
Cleans different types of floors from sticky dirt, dirt and kitchen grease. To do this, apply a wet or dry wipe before the cleaning process. After attaching a Braava-jet cleaning cloth, the robot automatically selects the cleaning method:
Wet wiping: The wet wipes have absorbent fibers and help to loosen kitchen grease, damp and sticky dirt from the floor.
Sweeping dry: The dry wipes absorb dirt, dust and animal hair thanks to their electrostatic force.
Only in wet wiping mode can the Braava jet m6 use a spray jet to loosen heavier dirt in front of it and thus clean it better. The wet wipes used can be washed.
The Braava jet m6 mopping robot maps the apartment on the first trip. So you can set in the app which rooms should be cleaned and when. The robot also listens to commands from Alexa and Google Assistant. The Braava jet m6 will automatically return to the charging station, charge itself and continue cleaning until the job is done.
Exciting:
In the interaction between Roomba s9 + (or other compatible Roombas) and the Braava jet m6, the
Imprint link technology ensures that both robots work hand in hand, so to speak.
You first start the vacuum robot (by timer or from the app) and as soon as it has finished cleaning and has returned to the charging station, the Braava jet m6 automatically starts damp wiping.

Roborock S6 Max V: With surveillance camera and multi-storey capability
Almost 430 euros
Multi-storey capable
App, voice control, maps, virtual limits
Good obstacle detection
faster suction
Very quiet if desired
Carpet detection
Lidar and camera
Can be used as a mobile and controllable surveillance camera
The vacuum and floor mopping robot
Roborock S6 Max V
captures its surroundings with lidar
and
Stereo camera. Chair and table legs, vases standing on the floor or children’s toys should be recognized and driven around quickly and safely. The robot marks detected obstacles as icons on its map so that the user can see what exactly was in the way. The robot also saves maps for several floors without having to move the charging station. Each floor can have its own virtually forbidden zones in which it should not be wiped and / or vacuumed. You can set the suction power to different levels and thus let the robot vacuum relatively quietly. However, if the robot detects a carpet, it automatically increases the suction power.
With the firmware update published at the beginning of August 2020
the robot becomes a rolling and remotely controllable surveillance camera.

Roborock S6: Jerk, suck, and wipe with lidar support
The
Roborock S6
is a vacuum robot that can also wipe with a damp cloth with the help of the supplied attachment. There is a small tank in the attachment into which you fill the washer fluid. Then you stretch the wipe on the insert and nothing stands in the way of the wet wiping process. The entire process of wiping, such as using the map created by the apartment, corresponds to the procedure for vacuuming. The S6 thus captures the room with its lidar and creates a virtual map of the cleaning area. The Roborock S6 cleans impressively quickly and very quietly.
You should only see the damp wiping function as a bonus; the robot cannot wipe away stubborn dirt. We have tested the Roborock S6, you can find our test report here:
Roborock S6 in the test – smart vacuum robot differentiates between rooms.
Roborock S5: Almost like the S6, only cheaper – price-performance tip
From around 390 euros (currently not available on Amazon)
Combination of vacuum and floor mopping robot
Technically almost identical to S6
The
Roborock S5
is the predecessor of the S6. It is largely identical to this one, according to the manufacturer it should only be a touch less smart when cleaning individual rooms. If that doesn’t bother you, you can save a lot of money compared to the S6.
We tested the Roborock S5:
Vacuuming and wiping with the Roborock S5 – excellent in the test.
Roborock S5 Max: vacuum and floor mopping robot with a larger water tank
From around 500 euros
Combination of vacuum and floor mopping robot
290 milliliter water tank
Technically identical to S5
The vacuum and floor mopping robot
Roborock S5 Max
According to the manufacturer, it has a water tank that is more than twice as large as the Roborock S5 and has a capacity of 290 milliliters. This increases the area to be wiped with a damp cloth in one go before the water tank has to be refilled. The tank of the new model also has a water control that allows the user to set different water consumption values for different rooms. This is especially important with different types of soil and prevents damage. You make these settings for the water tank in the app. In the app, you can control the amount of water and define “no-mop zones” to prevent carpets or other sensitive floors from getting wet. However, the S5 Max cannot eliminate a major weak point of modern mopping robots: it cannot scrub. The robot cannot remove stubborn stains.
The other functions of the 35.3 x 9.65 x 35.0 cm Roborock S5 Max are the same as the S5. For example, you can control the robot via the app and define restricted zones in the app. And of course the robot vacuum navigates through the rooms with lidar support, which means that it does its cleaning work fairly quickly.
Eufy Robovac L70 Hybrid: vacuum and mopping robot with lidar
From around 500 euros
Combination of vacuum and floor mopping robot
With lidar, app, Alexa, Google Assistant
Maps apartment
The
Eufy Robovac L70 Hybrid
Thanks to Lidar, it vacuums your apartment quickly and reliably and wipes it out with a damp cloth. You can also operate the robot via Alexa and Google Assistant. We really like the chic look.
Like Roborock with the S5 and S6, Eufy also provides a waterproof pad for the charging station so that water residues that drip from the robot’s water tank do not damage the floor.

Fill the water required for mopping into the small tank on the dust container. You can also attach the wiper to the underside of the robot with the appropriate holder. As with all other damp mopping robots of this type, the same applies to the Robovac L70 Hybrid: It cannot scrub and therefore cannot remove stains. Wet wiping is only used to pick up dust and pollen, but not to remove stubborn dirt. A nice bonus, but not a crucial feature.
Both zone cleaning and the locking of areas work in the app with the wipe mode. As soon as the water in the tank runs out during a wiping process, the robot indicates the water shortage via voice output and push message on the smartphone.

Ecovacs Deebot Pro 930: Combination of vacuum / floor mopping robot & handheld vacuum cleaner
From around 540 euros
Combination of vacuum and floor mopping robot plus cordless handheld vacuum cleaner
With lidar, app, Alexa, Google Assistant
The
Deebot Pro 930
from Ecovacs Robotics is a combination of vacuum robot, mopping robot and cordless handheld vacuum cleaner.First of all, the Deebot Pro 930 is a classic vacuum robot that you can send to Alexa by pressing the round button on the top, by smartphone app, by timer or by voice command or send the Google Assistant on a suction tour.
There is a water tank at the bottom of the robot that you can attach a wipe to. In this case the Deebot Pro 930 wipes your apartment with a damp cloth.
The mopping function only serves to moisten the floor and thus collect dust and pollen. However, the Deebot cannot remove stubborn dirt and stains with its wiping function. Wet wiping is most likely to make sense for those who are allergic to house dust and pollen, but it does not replace the occasional wet wiping by hand.
