Cooking can be a lot of fun, because your own creativity is required, you work with your hands and in the end you have a great result in the form of a delicious meal. On other days, however, cooking can be incredibly time consuming and annoying. But we still have to eat anyway – especially after a long day at work. With a slow cooker, you never have to worry about a meal again. You can simply enjoy delicious, healthy and freshly prepared food as soon as you get home.
The advantages of a slow cooker
A slow cooker cooks your food at temperatures between 60 and 90 degrees Celsius. It takes longer to prepare in this heat, but you don’t have to worry about anything other than adding the portioned ingredients to the saucepan. Your food is gently cooked due to the low temperatures (that’s why it’s called slow cooker in German) and your meal retains all the vitamins and nutrients.
Stews, ragouts and sauces in particular are incredibly simple to prepare and you don’t even have to be at home. With newer devices, you can even set a timer that determines when the cooking process should start. Just throw all the ingredients in the pot in the morning and your meal is ready in the evening. The food will not dry and even if you eat an hour later than planned, your meal will be super juicy.
