Streaming films and music online on Netflix or Spotify has become part of everyday life for many users. Streaming is also becoming increasingly popular in the gaming sector. With “Cloud Gaming” you no longer have to install your games on your PC, console or tablet, but can stream them directly via the Internet. The advantages are obvious: You save hard drive space and expensive acquisition costs.

You have to pay attention to this when choosing your cloud gaming service

Since the games are only streamed and not downloaded, you are usually not dependent on the latest and most expensive technology. You can stream the games on any PC, tablet or smartphone that is compatible with the respective service. Whether features such as 4k resolution or surround sound are supported depends on the respective service and not on your device. However, for smooth gaming, regardless of the service, you need a fast and stable internet connection with at least five megabits per second. A satisfactory gaming experience is not possible below this.

In addition, you have to find out exactly which service offers which games in advance. Many games are only available on one of the services, while others are only available for a certain period of time. If your favorite game is no longer available on your chosen service, you may have to buy it.
