Google Maps has a few helpful functions relating to your current location, which you can call up via the context menu of the blue point.
This includes sharing the location and determining the parking space for your car. With Android you can also use the functions “See places nearby” and “Calibrate with Live View”.
You will find numerous helpful functions in the context menu of the current location under Google Maps.
When sharing the location, you define a group of people who can track your current position via Google Maps either for a certain period of time or until the function is deactivated. This is helpful, for example, when you are traveling alone by bike, motorcycle or as a jogger.
With “See places nearby”, all POIs that Google Maps knows at your position are displayed on the map. This includes restaurants, for example, but also other information that has been stored by users.
If you share your location, the invited people can follow it directly on Google Maps.
“Calibrate with Live View” allows you to orientate yourself to saved locations such as buildings or street signs. This data can then be used for further orientation and navigation.
