Expected in early 2021, the new Volkswagen Touareg eHybrid is now available to order. Powered by a powerful 245 horsepower engine and available in five trim levels, it starts from 42,510 euros excluding bonus.
Prefigured by the Tiguan GTE Concept presented in 2015 in Frankfurt, the plug-in hybrid version of the Volkswagen Tiguan is finally available to order in France. Available in four levels of finishes, the Touareg’s little brother is billed between € 42,510 to € 52,270 excluding ecological bonus. While they turn out to be much higher than the entry-level engines, which start from € 34,210 in 130 hp petrol, the prices are in line with those of the Diesel 4Motion version.
245 horsepower under the hood
As usual at Volkswagen, plug-in hybrid technology is at the top of the range of engines on offer. Driven by a 6-speed DSG gearbox, the system accumulates 245 horsepower. It combines a 1.4 l 150 horsepower petrol unit with an 85 kW electric motor. Enough to allow up to 205 km / h maximum speed and a 0 to 100 km / h shot in 7.5 seconds.
Rechargeable via a hatch on the left front fender, the battery accumulates 13 kWh of energy capacity. In terms of range, the manufacturer announces 46 to 50 km in the combined cycle and up to 57 km in urban use.
In France, the first deliveries of the Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid are scheduled for early 2021.
