2019 Opel Movano
Next year, Opel will enter the electric utility market in force. In addition to the ‘zero emission’ Combo Cargo marketed in 2021 and the Vivaro-e, which will be available next month, the German manufacturer will offer for sale an electric version of the Movano, its large van.
Like many brands, Opel does not want to lose the urban transport market and therefore decides to offer its professional range in electric version. One way to comply with future rules for low emission zones in which diesels will be less and less accepted.
The performance of the van has not yet been revealed, but it will be based on the same architecture as the Peugeot e-Boxer and will certainly take over most of its components. The data should therefore be similar, with two choices of batteries of 37 or 70 kWh, and a range of 200 to 340 kilometers. The Peugeot brand is embarking on electrification and Opel CEO Michael Lohscheller has confirmed that the automaker will offer ” all models in an electrified version in 2024. “
