With a platform shared with PSA utilities, the Toyota Proace follows the same trajectory and adopts the electric motorization of the three-color group. But the battery warranty breaks all records.
The energy transition within the PSA group also concerns the vans of the three manufacturers Citroën, Peugeot and Opel. Offering their platform to the Toyota Proace, the Japanese van now receives electric technology.
No surprises therefore on the mechanical configuration strictly similar to the French and German utilities. The Proace is available with two versions 50 kWh and 75 kWh, ensuring a range of 230 km and 330 km respectively.
In both cases, it is a 136 hp and 260 Nm engine which takes care of putting the utility in motion, and up to a speed of 130 km / h. Charging is provided by a 7.4 kW on-board charger in AC and a CCS Combo socket in DC, with a maximum power of 100 kW. Note that an 11 kW three-phase AC charger can be added as an option.
Available with three different lengths, the Toyota Proace differs from the PSA trio, however, by its battery warranty. This guarantees a battery warranty extended to 15 years or a million kilometers based on 75% of the capacity of the initial battery! Toyota’s offer is therefore more generous than that of PSA, which is limited to 8 years and 160,000 km.
