The G-Class (2022) celebrates the AMG birthday as a special model

Daimler is apparently planning a new special model of the Mercedes G-Class. As the “AMG Edition 55”, the off-road vehicle is to celebrate the 55th birthday of the factory tuning company from Affalterbach and will be optically adapted accordingly. The special model could still be ordered in March 2022. Curious: Officially, the all-terrain vehicle from Graz (Austria) is currently not available in this country due to the chip crisis, only in the USA has Mercedes been taking new orders for around four weeks.

After the first official pictures of a G 550 special model had recently appeared in North America, according to information from the “MBpassion” blog, customers in Germany can also look forward to a new special derivative.

A possible AMG Edition 55 could carry the AMG Night Package and the Night Package II and stand on 22-inch forged wheels; In addition, the special G-Class could also have its own indoor car cover and its own fuel cap.

When it comes to paintwork, there are probably only two options. In the interior, the off-road vehicle will most likely be decorated with special lettering, and black and red leather will probably be available as a seat cover option.

Regular G-Class will probably still not be available to order

Anyone who has now hoped that the G-Class will be available again without restrictions in this country will be disappointed. In all likelihood, only existing orders can still be changed up to a certain processing status.

Mercedes is currently keeping the order books for the cult model closed, delivery bottlenecks at the suppliers and the enormous demand have already delayed the delivery dates until 2024.
