Apple has raised the prices for its iPhone 14 models – and not too little. That’s how much the new cell phones cost now.
Even before the Apple keynote, it was rumored that Apple was increasing the prices for the iPhone 14 generation. We were surprised that they would increase so massively. The regular iPhone 14 now costs at least €999, making it €100 more expensive than the iPhone 13 at launch. There are hardly any changes that would justify a surcharge of over 11 percent. The real innovations can only be found in the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) – to use them you now have to pay at least 1,299 euros, which is 150 euros more than before – and that’s a whopping 16 percent difference!

If you opt for the standard iPhone 14, you pay between 100 and 150 euros more, depending on the storage variant. The larger standard phone iPhone 14 Max has no predecessor, so we cannot compare the price here. At 150 euros, it costs quite a bit more than the small iPhone 14 – and that with any memory size.

You will experience an even clearer price difference with the iPhone 14 Pro. The surcharge increases by a further 10, 30 and 40 euros per memory size. The 1 TB version of the iPhone 14 Pro is 220 euros more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro.
You’ll find the highest premium on the big flagship – the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The entry-level model with 128 GB now costs 200 euros more. Double memory costs another 210 euros. And with the highest storage capacity of 1 TB, Apple has surpassed the €2,000 mark for an iPhone for the first time. Because that now costs 2,099 euros and thus a whopping 270 euros more than the previous model iPhone 13 Pro Max.
iPhone 14: is it worth buying?
While the standard cell phones have hardly changed compared to last year, but still cost more, we can understand the surcharge for the Pro models more. Because here you will find real changes compared to the predecessors: New A16 chip, better 48-megapixel camera, always-on and, above all, the new “Dynamic Island” notch, which brings additional features. But are they really worth the additional costs of up to 16 percent?
