Using a new three-electric system, the new Audi S-tron “S” series offers even more sporty performance to the electric SUV. Launch in Europe scheduled for fall.
Announced and already a few months ago and recently seen on the German circuit of the Nürburgring, the new sports series of the e-tron range is officially revealed. Integrated into the e-tron range and its Coupé version, the Audi e-tron Sportback, it is distinguished by the addition of a third electric motor. Placed on the rear axle, this increases the maximum power delivered to 503 horsepower and cuts it to 970 Nm in boost mode. What ensure a 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 210 km / h. Nothing to scare the Tesla Model X which, in its Performance version, provides exercise in 2.8 seconds with a speed of up to 261 km / h.
To optimize performance, only the rear electric motors operate in normal driving mode. The front engine only intervenes in the event of heavy load. For Audi, the addition of the second rear engine completes a new torque vectoring system, each engine being responsible for ensuring the transmission on each wheel independently.

Up to 365 km of range
Battery side, no change compared to other versions. Located under the floor, it displays 95 kWh of net capacity, 86 of which are useful. In terms of autonomy, the manufacturer communicates over 360 km for the e-tron S and 365 km on the e-tron S Sportback in WLTP cycle. A big difference compared to the e-tron 55 version. Less power and equipped with the same battery, it offers up to 436 km.
Standard fitted on 20-inch wheels (optional 21-inch and 22-inch to come) and fitted with 285-millimeter-wide tires, the new e-tron S has a few specific aesthetic elements, including the integration of a S Line pack. The silhouette also appears more muscular. This is due to the widening of the wheel arches (+23 mm) which add almost 4 cm in width.
Launch in the fall
The two new e-tron S will be launched in Europe in the fall of 2020. For France, prices are already known. Excluding bonuses, it will cost € 96,600 for the Audi e-tron S and € 99,200 for the Sportback version. Compare with the € 83,880 of the basic version of the e-tron 55.
