Performance and battery life
The OnePlus 8 runs just as well as the OnePlus 8 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S20 because it is equipped with largely similar components, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.
A feature that sets the OnePlus 8 apart from other top Android models is its LPDDR4x memory compared to the faster and energy-saving LPDDR5 standard in more expensive models. Here, too, the OnePlus 8 was not slower in running apps and the Android operating system, despite the technically lower RAM memory.
The OnePlus 8 is a large smartphone, which is why it also has a large battery and a long battery life. However, that was to be expected – especially because a good battery life is the norm in the expensive Android flagships these days. Other Android smartphones coming on the market in 2020 are likely to offer you a similar battery life.
To charge its large 4,300 milliampere battery, the OnePlus 8 comes with the incredibly fast Warp Charge 30 charger. With a power of 30 watts, the smartphone can be charged quickly. Charging from 15 percent to 100 percent takes only about an hour and is therefore faster than the included chargers of other smartphones.
Unfortunately, the OnePlus 8 does not support wireless charging, like the more expensive OnePlus 8 Pro and any other high-end smartphone.
